Corbotics at ESC Heart Failure 2026: Autonomous TTE in the Clinical Spotlight
The Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology holds its annual congress this week in Barcelona. Under the theme Evolution in Heart Failure, the event brings together cardiologists, imaging specialists, researchers, and professionals from across the world to review progress in heart failure prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Corbotics at the Congress
Corbotics, the Delft-based MedTech company developing an autonomous transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) device, is represented in the scientific programme this year. Corbotics technology uses robotics and AI to automate the acquisition of echo clips for outpatient cardiac care, with the goal of expanding access to standardised TTE examinations and reducing demands on experienced sonographers.
Two presenters are discussing the technology in the context of heart failure diagnostics:
On the 10th May, Luuk Kieviet presents 'First-in-human results of an autonomous bed-integrated robotic transthoracic echocardiography system to support heart failure care'. This is part of the Young Investigator Award (YIA) Clinical Cardiology.
On the 12th May, we are a topic during the heart failure 2026 highlights.
Why This Matters
TTE is the most widely used cardiac imaging modality in heart failure management. Demand for echocardiography continues to rise while access to trained sonographers remains a bottleneck in many healthcare settings. We believe that autonomous TTE acquisition addresses both the scalability and standardisation challenges that come with increased demand.
The ESC Heart Failure 2026 programme also features sessions on the impact of AI in heart failure, digital health, and novel devices — areas directly relevant to where Corbotics is developing.

The congress runs until 12 May, with sessions available in-person in Barcelona and online for registered delegates. Full programme details are available at https://esc365.escardio.org.
